Our 40th release is coming from a couple of friends, working on cool music on our opposite side of the world. Lyndon is not new on our label (he is on our legendary compilations) , and he is one of the founder of ‘Unchained Recordings’ , a really cool asian fresh label that share the same vision of the dnb sound with us. Although coming from two different musical quarters of the bass universe, Mike Airstrike and Lyndon Jarr have been quietly collaborating for a couple of years now. With a wide variety of music in their palette, from atmospheric club 3-step to left-field autonomic and everything in between, they have been building up their release arsenal for 2021 and the years to come.
Both warehouse jaunters from back in the day, the duo kick off their first release - the Rave Circus Ep. We are very happy to be part of their musical journey.
All three tracks are presented at 160bpm and littered with mutations of Acid, Drum’n’Bass, Hardcore, Techno and antic vocalisms harking back to an era where the glow stick and the dirty reese bass reigned supreme! Both Rave Circus and Bells are a breed of pre-jungle era rave whist Poison punches hard as a 4/4 rolling acid breakbeat anthem.
Airstrike, known for his choppage-esqe liquid output is originally from Brighton, UK and based in the United States where he tends to his rose garden and miniature ant farm when not making tunes. Lyndon Jarr has been pushing out vibey 140 and the odd banger for some years and is also co-Founder/label manager of Unchained Recordings. Whilst based in Hong Kong for the past 10 years, he has recently returned to Sydney where he tends to his Australian accent, coffee addiction and world renowned glow-worm collection.
In 2021 expect to see their own imprint, Static and Strange, come to view focusing on their own sonic creations.
